How to delete unwanted pages from a PDF

A step-by-step guide to delete unwanted pages from a PDF, with advice on the settings and checks that matter.

Before you start

Use the PDF’s actual page positions, not printed page numbers that may start after a cover. List the pages or ranges to remove.

How to do it, step by step

  1. Open the PDF and count pages from the beginning, including any cover.
  2. Enter the page numbers or ranges you want to remove. Leave at least one page in the document.
  3. Process and download the shortened copy. Check both sides of each removed section.

Check the saved file

Count the remaining pages and check the first and last page around each removal.

Delete PDF pages without losing the wrong section

Printed page labels can differ from file positions. Deleting a cover changes later positions in the newly saved file. Make one plan using the original page positions. In AI chat, review that plan and click Apply once; you do not need to type a special confirmation phrase.
