PDF to PowerPoint: editable text or page images?
Text extraction provides editable content but does not reproduce the original slide design. Page images preserve appearance but are not editable text.
Why this happens
Text extraction provides editable content but does not reproduce the original slide design. Page images preserve appearance but are not editable text.
What to try first
Choose text conversion when rewriting the presentation. Export PDF pages to PNG if preserving their appearance is more important, then place those images in slides.
Try it on a fresh copy
- Open a PDF with text you want to reuse in a presentation.
- Convert it and download the PPTX. This workflow extracts text rather than recreating the original visual design.
- Open the presentation and organize the text into slide titles and shorter points. Add illustrations separately.
How to tell whether it worked
Open the PPTX and arrange slide titles, body text and visuals for presentation.
