FileHero guide
Preserve complex Word formatting when making a PDF
A text-based conversion is not the same as Word’s own page-layout export. Tables, pictures and custom headers may need a different workflow.
Why this happens
A text-based conversion is not the same as Word’s own page-layout export. Tables, pictures and custom headers may need a different workflow.
What to try first
If exact visual fidelity is essential, export to PDF from the application that authored the DOCX. Use FileHero when a simple text PDF is sufficient.
Try it on a fresh copy
- Choose a DOCX document. Use the original writing app instead if exact images, tables and page layout must be preserved.
- Convert its text and download the PDF.
- Compare the content with the DOCX and check where the new PDF breaks across pages.
How to tell whether it worked
Compare the resulting PDF’s content against the document before distributing it.
