Why a QR code will not scan

Codes can become difficult to read when printed too small, stretched, blurred or placed on a low-contrast background.

Why this happens

Codes can become difficult to read when printed too small, stretched, blurred or placed on a low-contrast background.

What to try first

Keep the code square and leave a clear border. Test the actual printed or displayed version, not only the original PNG on your screen.

Try it on a fresh copy

  1. Paste the complete link or enter the short text the code should contain.
  2. Generate the code and download the PNG.
  3. Scan that saved image with another device. If it is going on a poster, test a print at the intended size too.

How to tell whether it worked

Scan the downloaded PNG with another device before printing or sharing.
