Why convert HEIC to JPG?
HEIC is common on Apple devices, but some websites and applications expect JPG. Conversion improves compatibility rather than adding image detail.
Why this happens
HEIC is common on Apple devices, but some websites and applications expect JPG. Conversion improves compatibility rather than adding image detail.
What to try first
Use JPG for a recipient who cannot open HEIC. Keep the original when you may need higher-quality editing later.
Try it on a fresh copy
- Choose the HEIC photo from your device and keep the original.
- Convert it to JPG and download the copy.
- Open the JPG to check orientation and colors, then upload that file to the app that rejected HEIC.
How to tell whether it worked
Open the JPG and check its color, orientation and detail before deleting any source copy.
