ZIP versus compression: which should you use?

Why this happens

ZIP is useful for packaging multiple files. Photos and videos are often already compressed, so packaging them may barely reduce their size.

What to try first

Use image or video compression first when size is the main problem. Then create a ZIP if you still need a single attachment.

Try it on a fresh copy

1. Add the files you want to send together. Give them recognizable names before making the archive.
2. Create the ZIP and wait for the download to become available.
3. Open the downloaded archive and check that every intended file is inside.

How to tell whether it worked

Open the downloaded ZIP and verify its file list before sending it.
